My name is Erin and I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I have an MSc in counselling children and young people from the University of Northampton. I work to an integrative model, meaning I use a a variety of different tools, modalities and training to fit the needs of the individual client. My training covered family therapy also, and I am comfortable including the parent or carer in the therapeutic work with a child if I deem this to be appropriate. I have experience working with children of 4 years old up to adults. I am particularly passionate about the power of play and creative therapies to assist the therapeutic process.
I enjoy practising mindfulness in my spare time, and have attended the British Mindfulness Institute's 8 week Mindfulness and Meditation course.
I have a specialism in working with trauma - whether this be situational, developmental or relational and experience working to the 3 stage trauma processing model. I also have vast experience working with adoptive families, and alongside private work I work for a Psychotherapeutic trauma centre in Moulton both delivering therapy and trauma informed training to schools and adoptive parents or foster carers. I am also the Chair of a charity improving wellbeing in young people and have previously worked on their projects as a mentor.
I am a fully qualified EMDR practitioner through EMDR Centre London.
